Garrka yap-u burrundyata Knowledge Holders Artwork

‘In this piece of work, I wanted to show the true essence of what this group is and the people who make up this group and space. In the centre is the meeting place which represents when they all come together as a group, but I have also done journey lines coming from the meeting showing all their different individual journeys how they got to this place. In each panel is a piece of art done by a person who has a role in creating this team or is a knowledge holder. Each piece is individual just like the persons story, but we also focused on how creating the art made them feel and to connect back into feeling their emotions as they came in all forms.’

Artist: Tarni Jarvis
Djab Wurrung, Peak Wurrung & Kirrae Wurrung Artist

We would like to express our gratitude to the Garrka yap-u burrundyata Knowledge Holders Group for sharing their journeys and contributing to this beautiful artwork.
